Book Tradition {days 1&2}

Our Christmas book tradition has begun! On the first day of December ...my true love gave to me .... haha ... just kidding! Anyway, on the first of December we opened one of our favorite books ever - The ADVENTure of Christmas by Lisa Welchel. {Blair from the Facts of Life} I assure you that any and every Mom NEEDS a copy of this book to celebrate the holidays! I love all of Lisa's books, but this one really tops the list.

Lisa takes every single element of the Christmas season and points it back to Jesus. Each day we read a page about one thing - Christmas lights, the tree, Christmas dinner, gift giving, etc ... There is a portion to read, which brings in a spiritual meaning, then on the other side of the page there are activities, crafts, recipes and questions to get your kids talking.

This is our 3rd year with this book and every year we look forward to bringing it out for the Christmas season! So each night we will read a portion of this book, in addition to whatever book we open from underneath the tree. Since many times we don't get all the way to the end of this book before Christmas, we've decided this year to start from the back of the book and read forward!

SO, for December 1st we read about: Christmas Dinner
On December 2nd we read about: Opening Presents AND we also read the book you see below, The Snow Bear.

What do you enjoy reading at Christmastime?
What will we read tonight? Stay tuned!

Although we don't wrap each book and put it under the tree, we do read a christmas story everynight. Tonight my son read Polar Express to us. Tomorrow night,the movie!

*Read your post on wrapping the books the day after we pulled out all of ours, next year they will be wrapped. Love that idea.
