Vacation - Part Two

We had a fun family scavenger hunt in the woods, then visited another waterfall ... did lots of letterboxing and had lots of yummy Green Mountain coffee.

Here we were trying to get a good picture of the 5 cousins ...

Vacation - Part One

Two weeks ago we went away for a long weekend. It's a family tradition that we have done since the year we got married. Where we go is beautiful in the fall - the mountains, the colored leaves, the waterfalls - it's all gorgeous.

My in laws also have a time share up there that is always the in October. So we always go up for a few days and spend some time with them. It's wonderful going on a trip with them - they bring countless activities for the kids, babysit so we can go out for dinner, and are just very helpful.

This year Bob's brothers also came up. They both live in up north but they live quite a bit south of where we went ... so we all went up north and stayed in a couple hotels. Aaron's wife couldn't come, but Dan's wife Kristen and their 3 boys were there.

The girls always have a great time with their cousins ... the first day we explored a few different waterfalls. We started with a picnic lunch next to this water fall.

Then we went to another waterfall - here are Jonathon, J, Thomas and H

Dan, Kristen and their boys - Thomas, Jonathon and Andrew

This is one of my favorite waterfalls - we've been here many times and I'm always amazed by it!

Our family pic - not very well posed but oh well!

More to come ...

Road Trip part 1 - Friends

We took the girls up for a quick little road trip. We stayed the first night near with our friends. The girls always have a ball playing with Haylee and Ella ... and I always enjoy spending time with Julie and seeing their little baby Cora. The girls bounced on the trampoline, played in the water hose and had a great time together. I only took a few pictures and I didn't even get one of Julie or Cora! I have to get better about getting everyone in the pictures!

Road Trip part 2 - the Lake

We spent a while on Monday exploring the Lake area. We walked around to see the sights, took some pictures, ate lunch out on the deck of a restaurant that overlooked the lake, and checked out a few hotels in case we ever want to come back.

Road Trip part 3 - Indoor Waterpark

This was our second time going to the Indoor Water park. We had a blast again, just like last year! We chose to go on a Monday since we knew there wouldn't be too many people there and it was perfect! We had mostly everything to ourselves, there were only a handful of other people in the whole hotel.

We spent hours in the water park going up LOTS of stairs and coming down LOTS of slides! The girls favorite was this huge tube that we called the 'family' slide because all of us could go on it together. In this photo the girls went down alone, you could hear their screams the whole way down!

Relaxing on the lazy river ...

The hotel also had a Johnny Rockets restaurant. We had a great dinner there ... then later that night we went back again for dessert! It's a very fun place to eat where they make your ketchup into smiley faces and the waitresses sing and dance for you. (J was so embarrassed when they sang and danced, she wouldn't even look at them!)
Yes, I was there too ... always taking the pictures and not getting in them!
Yummy shakes at Johnny Rockets!! Once again we had a great time. The hotel also had a great arcade room and gave the girls free tokens to play in there. They won some cute prizes and had so much fun. They also gave each kid a Looney Tunes stuffed animal ... just what we need - more stuffed animals!! =)

It was a great trip and the kids had a blast and Bob & I had a pretty great time too!

Weekend Vacation

A couple weeks ago Bob and I had the fantastic opportunity to go away for the weekend ... with some friends ... with NO kids!! Our friends have a time share condo that was right on the water. It was incredible! The condo was beautiful, it had fabulous views, was within walking distance of hundreds of shops and restaurants, and was surrounded by water, harbors and gorgeous yachts. It was amazing.

Jake and Samantha are our friends who invited us. They don't have any kids yet ... but are expecting their first in the new year. So the four of us got to be adults and have a fun weekend with no kids. =) (Don't get me wrong, I love my kids, but getting a break is sometimes nice!)

It was gorgeous. There is so much to do and see there. There was no way we would have come close to seeing it all in the 2 days we were there. And you might think we'd try to cram in as much sightseeing as we could ... but instead, we simply sat in the sun by the pool for most of the time!! Well, we did walk around the shops and go out to some pretty cool restaurants too, but most of our time was by the pool. Total relaxation!

Looking out our bedroom window on one side of the condo we could see this ...

This is the condo building we stayed in ... Looking out the deck on the other side of the condo we could see these views ... This is a view of the pool area taken from the rooftop ... And another one of the pool area where you can see the harbor right there on the left ... More amazing yachts ... makes ya wonder who owns these boats and what they do for a living??

This is what we did most of the time ...
Right here next to the pool, which overlooked the harbor ...

At the a cool Pub for dinner - YUM!

Thanks so much Jake and Sam! We had such a great time with you!
