Our favorite 'Random' photos ...

Have you noticed that we have A LOT of favorite photos from this trip??!! It was an amazing trip, one that we will not soon forget. The time we spent together and the memories we made as a family will last forever. I can't wait to scrapbook this trip, I know it's going to be a HUGE scrapbook!

Our favorite 'Beach day #3' photos ...

On our third day on Bermuda we decided to take a ferry ride to St. Georges which is at the total opposite end of the island from where our ship was. They said it would take 3 hours by bus to get there, but by ferry it was a quick 30 min ride! Plus, being on the ferry is so much more interesting and fun than a bus!

Anyway, we took the ferry to St. Georges, then a quick 5 min taxi ride to this amazing beach called Tobacco Bay. The views at this beach were incredible and I happily spent the whole entire day snapping pictures ... well, when I wasn't snorkeling or swimming or eating or hanging out with my family!




We rented snorkel equipment so we could see even more fish than we had with just goggles ... Hope loved it! She and Daddy spent most of the day snorkeling out around all the rocks and reefs and seeing amazing tropical fish ...
Joy did a small amount of snorkeling but gets spooked a little more easily {like her Mommy} so she spent more time just sitting in the shallow water, playing with sand and making castles ...

My brave husband saw these local kids climbing up and jumping off of these cliffs way out about a half mile off shore {yes, my new zoom camera works amazingly well!} ... so since he's never one to shy away from adventure and a challenge he swam out there and climbed on up and dove off! I think the local kids were shocked that one of the tourists would actually do it! There were some higher cliffs that the kids were jumping from, where they had to land in this small little hole of water ... I said NO to Bob doing those ones!

I love this one! Seeing Hope and Daddy snorkeling together was so sweet!


This was our last day on Bermuda, so we took the ferry back to King's Wharf and back to our ship ... and soon we were setting sail back to the US. We loved Bermuda and can't wait to go back. There is so much more that we want to see and explore there and it's all just gorgeous! Stay tuned for our last batch of vacation photos ... our favorite random shots ...

A question about Google Reader ...

For those of you that use Google reader, I'm hoping you can help me out here! I use google reader, and love it because it manages all the blogs I love to read and keeps me updated when someone writes something new.

But I've been really confused lately. I had a few blogs that I followed for awhile and recently decided that I didn't want to follow anymore. I went in to manage my subscriptions and removed these blogs from my list. But, they keep coming back! AAAHHH, it's like they're haunting me! haha, no not really, but seriously, they will be gone from my list on google reader for a few days, then they will pop back on there again!

What's really weird is that there are some that I've removed, that have stayed gone ... but these 3 or 4 keep coming back.

Anyone have any ideas? I'm going crazy here! Thanks for any input ... and if you have no idea what I'm talking about just ignore this whole post and go on enjoying my lovely vacation photos! Thanks!

Our favorite 'Beach day #2' photos

On our second day on Bermuda we had signed up for an excursion called 9 Beaches beach break. We took a boat with about 20 other people to this amazing resort called 9 Beaches. The funny thing on the boat ride was that the excursion was supposed to take about 3 hours and when we got on board the captain started playing the song from Gilligan's Island about a 'three hour tour!' ... we laughed and hoped our fate would not be the same as those on the Minnow!

Anyway, 9 Beaches was fabulous! There were 9 different beaches all separated by rocks and coral and cliffs and there were these adorable little beach cabins spread throughout the property, most of which were overlooking the water or even IN the water! The ones in the water have glass panels in the floor so you can see straight down into the water ... so cool!

The beaches were all gorgeous and all the super cool little coves were fun to explore. Once again the girls and Bob loved looking for all the tropical fish and swimming out to check out the reefs. We only had goggles to use, but they didn't care and had a blast.


We decided that the next time we visit Bermuda we really want to stay here!! Isn't it just like a post card??

Oh yeah, did I mention that this day was also my birthday?? BEST BIRTHDAY EVER! This was at lunch time, sitting on the patio overlooking the gorgeous turquoise waters and beaches, sipping on a yummy tropical drink and eating fish and chips for lunch, with my favorite 3 people in the whole world - I was in absolute heaven and could not imagine a better birthday.

After a couple of hours our boat captain called out that it was time to leave and we quickly said, 'we're not ready to go yet!'. We were having such a great day that we decided to stay a few more hours and got a ride back to the ship later in the day instead of taking the boat back. It was worth it to stay!

Our favorite 'Beach day #1' photos ...

On our first day in Bermuda we went to this neat place called Snorkel Park - there was a great beach and it was surrounded by part of the old dockyard wall and rocks so it was a nice calm cove where you could swim or look for fish.

Fish? What kind of fish? Oh it was so cool! We were totally not expecting to see anything so cool, but we were only in the water a few minutes when people started talking about the fish swimming around their legs. We went over to see and we could see all kinds of beautiful tropical fish swimming all around us! They were so pretty and were not at all afraid to swim so close to humans!

The girls were so thankful to have their goggles with them and were soon going all over the place looking for fish. Then we saw some snorkelers going further out to this reef where some of the bigger fish were so Bob took the girls one at a time way out there to check it out. I was so impressed with the girls, they swam SO well and were very brave. It was very far off shore and they couldn't touch the bottom so they had to swim the whole way. And they didn't have a snorkel, only their goggles so they had to keep coming up for air. I didn't even swim out that far because I was a little fearful, but the girls were with Daddy and were so brave!

There was a restaurant and bar on the beach and we sat upstairs overlooking the beach to eat our lunch ... it was awesome! Beautiful view, beautiful breeze, beautiful company ... who could ask for anything more?

There were lots of chickens ... I couldn't stop laughing when we saw this one trying to cross the road ... even using the crosswalk!

On the night of my birthday there was this huge street festival and all the tall ships from all over the world were in town. It was like a giant birthday celebration for me! haha ... not really, but it was a lot of fun!
