One thing I did do though was change the look of my blog for October - so if you usually read my posts in google reader you might want to click over and see the fallish changes. =)
I think 'fallish' should be added to the dictionary. Just sayin' ...
Hope is much better, getting over the pneumonia. She still takes the inhaler a couple times a day and still coughs a bit but is much better. It was so nice to go to church and Sunday school today after missing last week. Joy has a stuffy nose so she is definitely fighting a cold, but nothing major so far.
We went 'back to school' this week and had a good week and got a fair amount done. We're still plugging through our first history pocket on Life in Plymouth Colony - mostly because we've missed so many school days so it's taking longer than expected. But the girls are loving it and I gotta say - the subjects we all do together like history, science and Bible are very quickly becoming my favorite too!
Hope had her first piano lesson this week and really loves it so far. Her teacher is a young 20-something girl from our church who's goal is for the piano student to have fun and enjoy themselves so I think it's going to work out well. She comes here to the house too which is wonderful - Joy and I took that time to snuggle together and read.
We had our first MOMS get together this week - we introduced the theme for the year as well as the leadership team with a couple of fun skits. Not typically in my comfort zone but it was so fun and I think the women who came enjoyed it. We showed a video of a Steven Curtis Chapman song that speaks right to the heart of a Mom - I will try my best to include it at the bottom. Our theme is coming from one of my favorite books - Taking Care of the Me in Mommy by Lisa Welchel. I just love her writings! It's a blessing to share what we've read and learned from Lisa with this great group of Moms. After all, as Moms we tend to take care of everyone else first and neglect ourselves way too often, don't we?!
On Saturday we went to visit my brother, sister in law and niece. We had a lot of fun taking the 3 girls out to a Plaster painting place and then Friendly's for dinner and of course, dessert! Below you'll see some fun pictures of the creations we made at the plaster place!
Oh! And this first pic is of all the amazing deals I got for the girls at the consignment shop the other day ... GAP and LL Bean and Children's Place and other great brand names like that for a FRACTION of the cost that you'd pay at the store - I love it!
I hope this video works!!! Enjoy!!

Thanks for posting that video. I had heard that song several months ago, but it was so neat to hear it again in this season of my life right now. Thank you!!
